Learn how to create a new WhatsApp template and update it on your automation in BusinessChat.

Updated over a week ago

To edit an automation message on BusinessChat, it is not recommended to modify the existing template directly. It is preferable to create a new template and update it on the required automation. Follow the steps below to ensure that the changes work correctly, with the template type matching the automation and its status updated after synchronization.

Create a New WhatsApp Template

  1. Go to Settings → WhatsApp Message Templates → Create Template.

  2. A list of ready-made templates that can be edited will appear.

  3. Choose the template suitable for your intended use and make the required modifications.

⚠️ Attention

  • The template type must match the automation type.

  • Example: For abandoned cart automation, a template of the Abandoned Cart type must be used.

Verify Template Approval

  • After creating the template, perform number synchronization to update the template status.

  • Make sure the template is approved by WhatsApp before using it.

Template Approval

  • The WhatsApp approval process for templates may take from a few moments up to 24 hours.

  • During this period, you can track the template status after synchronization.

Number synchronization updates the latest information on your WhatsApp numbers, including the template status as it appears on your Facebook Business account.

Synchronization Steps

  1. Click on your profile picture.

  2. Select Settings from the menu.

  4. On the WhatsApp Numbers page, click the green “Sync Numbers” button to update the number’s data.

  5. After synchronization is complete, check the template status again.

  2. Select the required automation.

  3. Click the Edit button.

  4. Click Edit under the template you want to change.

  5. Replace the old template with the new template.

  6. Click Save and then Publish Changes.
